When we are experiencing our own defeat, suffering, struggle or loss, it is difficult to see the gifts or blessings woven in all the pain. When we move past the survival phase of our experience, we can reflect back and see all that we have learned and how we have grown because of it. When you think of a challenge you have endured, consider asking yourself “what positive things have I learned about myself having gone through that experience?” Maybe your answer will be “I am stronger than I think”, “I am determined”,”I am resilient” . By pondering this question, our thinking can shift from the horrors of the experience to identifying the hidden treasures woven in and our pain can become a gift we share to help encourage others on their journey.
